Molasses in water.

Add a spoonful of molasses to 4-5 ounces of lightly warm water. My son had been constipated for 3 days (breasted baby) and so gave him the concoction my MIL suggested and he pooped 3 hours later! :D And Elias liked how it tasted...

Sometimes when a newborn doesn't have a bowel movement, especially if he/she is breastfed, he/she is going through a growth spurt and using up all their "stores". It doesn't necessarily mean they are constipated.

Using molasses for constipation is new to me. I love molasses, especially on pancakes or waffles and bread!

Sheilait's a sweetener. If you've had brown bread, then molasses was probably used to make it. We use to make molasses cookies too. Black strap molasses is good by the tablespoon to get your iron up naturally.
