PMDD - premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder - when your PMS symptoms are SO bad that they require medication..possible anti-depressant...

recently there was an article that called this a mental illness and women who suffer from this say this is NOT a mental illness but a reaction to the BODY illness.

I gotta say.. as I've gotten older.. My PMS symptoms are terrible.. Aside from the body stuff; bloating, tender; achey, etc.. I find myself down and in the dumps, emotional, easily agitated, etc...BUT.. I don't feel that it's an illness... I do recognize when it happens.. and it's tough sometimes..

The more women I talk to, the more I realize that it's so super common to have such bad feelings.. I do ask myself sometimes, 'Am I depressed?" and then I rally to get out and do stuff to make myself feel better... Which is the way I can tell that I'm not super down...

But I will admit.. if I could NOT feel that way for 10 days prior to my period than I would...

Anyone suffer from extreme PMS symptoms?

No, but I think this is a good example of the good doctors in the US trying to over medicate and make a profit off of unwilling citizens.

No, not really. Just different symptoms are occurring like headaches. I thought I was having heavier bleeding but that must have only been for the first couple of months after my miscarriage because I am back to normal now.

We live in Los Angeles, CA. I'm a writer, comedian, actor and single mom of two. Parenting is hard. I try to keep a sense of humor about it all and find the find the funny... in what is most likely NOT funny (i.e. boogers, meltdowns, homework, etc.).
