Immediate Reward for kids..

My kids for some reason never gave a hoot about a sticker on their chart.. they seemed really early on that they wanted immediate gratification.. cold hard cash or something tangible.. lol.

I made an old coffee can, they decorated it and every time they used the potty, we would put a gum ball or m and m in there... and at the end of the DAY.. they got to eat whatever they earned...

Potty training only lasted a few days here..

It depended on the child for us. We've had them trained as young as 18 months, still not as early as my mom had us trained (12 months), and our youngest nothing seems to work. So we've backed off.

We live in Los Angeles, CA. I'm a writer, comedian, actor and single mom of two. Parenting is hard. I try to keep a sense of humor about it all and find the find the funny... in what is most likely NOT funny (i.e. boogers, meltdowns, homework, etc.).
