Strategies for children who won't sleep
For our children who didn't want to sleep, we still maintained a regular bedtime or nap time where they had to stay in bed and be quiet. Usually they would just play quietly or look at books until it was dark outside (more so in the summer time). When they were little, this required a few days of training them to stay in bed by sending them back to bed over and over and over again.
Our older children have used lavender essential oil on their pillows when they have trouble falling asleep.
We've used soothing music or sing and pray with them.
Back rubs relax our little people.
