Problems with Epidural

If you had problems with your epidural or the epidural didn't work the good news it probably wont happen again. It is possible for it not to work and sometimes it is based on your anatomy but often it is just the way it went in and you wont have problems with a future epidural.

There are many things you can do to prepare for an unmedicated birth. First thing I recommend doing is taking a childbirth class. In a childbirth class you will learn breathing and relaxation techniques, comfort measures, and positions that help with labor. You will also learn what to expect during the stages of labor and hopefully ease some fears you may have. Make sure that you have a support person who will be with you during the entire labor and that they are familiar with the coping techniques as well. And most of all stay calm and relax!
