Period After Pregnancy

Hopefully you enjoyed not having your period for 9 months because after your baby is born your period will be coming back. Many women will get their first postpartum period 6-12 weeks after delivery. If you are breastfeeding your period can be delayed up to 12 months but not all women experience a delay when breastfeeding.

Some women will have very regular periods and others will experience irregular periods. Some women notice an increase in flow and cramping after having a baby.

Just remember that you will ovulate before you get your first period so make sure you are using some form of birth control even if you haven't gotten your period yet.
