Why does my baby have red cheeks?

From my experience with our babies, red cheeks can be a sign of teething, something in the soap or detergent you are using, possibly a sign of being too warm or a sign of being feverish . Other reasons could be eczema or baby acne (which goes away after a few months, usually late in the first year).

Can you think of other reasons?

My daughter had a reaction to a formula I tried her on that started with red cheeks and progressed to her lips, cheeks, and nose being chapped and peeling before we realized what was causing it and switched her back to what she was used to.

I always know when my 7 year old is coming down with something and how bad it will be because of his cheeks. He gets red cheeks with every illness the redder they are and the larger area covered the worse the illness is. He has always been that way.

I am not all that sure when it comes to babies other than African American which I am but your guess is as good as mine, I have just thought that theses babes were either experiencing a sudden change with their temps or maybe feverish, with my baby boy Noey I would see these changes ( he is African with Italian descent) whenever I would introduce him to a new solid.

Interesting. We've never had Fifths's disease or hand, food and mouth or rosacea, but all our children had red cheeks at some point or other.

My son has eczema really bad, beyond red cheeks. His were crusty and sore, he's on an extensive routine to just keep it in check right now. But his poor little head is really bad still.
