Period After Birth

After you delivery your baby you will have some bleeding know as lochia for up to 6 weeks. Your normal monthly cycle (period) can return anywhere from 6-12 weeks after delivery. Some women who are breastfeeding might find that their period is delayed for up to 12 months. Not all breastfeeding women will have a delayed period.

It is important to remember that you are fertile and ovulate before you get your period back so make sure you are using some form of birth control.
