I have always heard that kids with clean hair are more likely to get lice. So if your child got lice he is probably well cared for. Lice is extremely contagious and he could have caught it from school or any public place. You did nothing wrong!

Maybe he picked it up from a playmate those things can hide on clothing and toys, I would clean the whole house to make sure you get rid of em. good luck.

I have had a HUGE problem with lice. We are fighting like crazy to get rid of it. As long as you are trying, there is NOTHING you should feel bad about. You found out, and you are treating it.

Oh no, you aren't a bad mom for that! Things like this happen and even though it is embarrassing It's certainly no reflection on you. I've been there.

I don't know if you plan to buzz his hair, but that is an option. When my daughter got it I used the lice comb on her hair every single day. I tried to make it less tedious by doing a "spa" type thing with her where we deep conditioned her hair (put conditioner on and then a cap over it, leave for a few hours) and then wash that out and get to work with the lice comb. You may want to do this for yourself too.

Wash and dry all bed linens on hot. Lovies get the same treatment if they can be machine washed and dried. Book bags, coats... just everything that gets daily use should be washed.

I would also let school know if little one is in school so they can check the class. If they are around someone with it then the chance of getting it again is pretty high.

HUGS! This is annoying but no reflection on you guys.

Lice can happen anywhere to anyone.. rich, poor, over bearing moms, absent.. whatever.. it has NOTHING to do with your lifestyle or parenting skill..

There's this myth that dirty kids get lice.. and that's a myth.. no one wants to admit it.. and well gross out .. but it can get to anyone..

From a private school and your child lays on the ground where someone else layer that got lice over the weekend at lets say.. a baptism form a visiting family that she played with.. THAT'S how easy it's spread..

Movie theater seats, classes... So, don't feel bad.. But i know what you mean.. you feel a little embarrassed..

Katie is right.. word is that Clean hear is what lice LOVE.. it's not actually that's it's clean.. and smells better.. it's that there's no product or little natural oil in the hair when it's freshly washed and that's makes it easier for the lice to stick to..

I'm paranoid of lice.. the one thing I think I'll lose my cool with... I wash my kids hair every OTHER night.. sometimes two nights in enbetween, depending on what they do or play... AND I spray with hair spray so it's hard for them to hold on..

Probably won't work but it makes me feel better..

                it's fine..
