Bedtime Routine!

I would love to hear your routines when your babes were babies! Trying to little by little get Monroe in one!

Ie.. Did you rock them when they were teeny and then put them down? Did you ever try to put them down slightly awake? Did you use the same lotion every night? Same white noise?

Give me your best advice Mamas!! :)

When little man was first born (even though they say not to) he slept in our bed, When we started putting him to bed we started by bottle feeding him and rocking him to sleep, after he was about 6 months old, we stopped feeding him but we still rock him to sleep, and music worked the best for us when he was having a rough night so now every night he gets music, we tried different music styles because he didn't really seem to like the baby lullaby music for him it was old blues music. Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, stuff like that. And he has one blanket that we rock him to sleep with that he wont sleep without.

Well we started him in a craddle before the crib so that he could still sleep in our room, mainly because i was too scared to have him sleep in his own room because the only other rooms in our house are on the other side of the house. It was tough at first, he wouldn't go to sleep without us there, so we had to let him cry, but only for 5 minutes at a time. We would go in there and rock him for about 15 (some times 30 min depending on the night) and then lay him down and if he cried we let him cry for 5 min and then went and did it again. I assure you i cried right along with him. Definitely one of the hardest things we did, but after he got used to sleeping by himself not only did he sleep better, we slept better, because i don't know about you but i only half slept when he was in bed because i was so worried id roll on top of him. But we did that until he was about 4 months i think then moved him to the crib, and because he was already used to sleeping by him self he did fine switching from craddle to crib.

iIf your baby gets cranky and ready to nap by 10 every morning, you can ease him into it before he gets overtired. Start 15 to 20 minutes before you expect his sleep signals to show up – feed, change, and rock him quietly, turn down the lights, and keep your voice low. That way he's already on the road to sleep when that tired feeling overtakes him. That's what I do with Selena and keep consistent with your schedule.
