First Postpartum Period

Your first postpartum period might come between 6-12weeks postpartum. If you are breastfeeding your period might be delayed for a few months but not all women are lucky enough to have a delay in their period. Your first period may be more painful and have more cramping than it did before pregnancy. Some women will have a very light or mild first period. You might have some cramping or PMS symptoms before you have bleeding.

Moms Expertise
I was an unlucky mom who always got my period even while breastfeeding, the darn thing came back at 6 weeks postpartum each time. Some breastfeeding moms can go a year or even longer with no period. It is important to remember that you will ovulate BEFORE you get your first period so if you had unprotected sex you could get pregnant.
