Follow Your Doctors Instructions

Follow all recommendations that your doctor gives you. Make sure you take it easy, you just had major surgery, don't over do it. Spend plenty of time resting and sleep when the baby sleeps. Make sure your spouse or other support person helps you get up and down and help you with any lifting.

Take the pain medication your doctor gives you and follow the time schedule they set for pain medication. Even if you are not feeling a lot of pain it is important to stay ahead of the pain with the medication. If the pain gets ahead it is much harder to get in under control.

If at any point the pain gets extreme or more than you can handle don't hesitate to call your doctor and ask for help.
