Moms, how do you prevent teasing

This is hard because fun-loving teasing is a part of life. We all do it in one form or another. The key is people's response to the teasing. We tell our children they have gone too far if the other person is not having fun or is no longer having fun.

We have one son who is a huge tease and we are constantly telling him to stop. He's 12 so extra work is one form of consequence for him. I fear we didn't do as much as we should have when he was younger. Now we give time outs for our little guys when they tease to the point of bugging the other person.

What about you how do you deal with teasing and have you successfully prevented it?

Yes, we have done that too. It doesn't seem to affect this guy as much as we would like. The other children I can see them thinking about it and getting it.

He's trying to get a rise out of his brother usually. :)

Mostly yes, because his brother gives him the same reaction every time.

We have done that but maybe it's time to try it again now that there's more work with the poultry here again. I know he would absolutely HATE having to do his brother's work......hmmm.....gonna try this tomorrow. I can just hear him now.

I don't deal with the teasing yet but my son gets teased by my cousin who is 23... A rude nasty person he is. I get on to him constantly. My son is very attached to me and loves to cuddle and hug and sit on my lap all the time and if he gets hurt (even if its a little bump) he runs crying to me and my cousin says aw you little baby need your mommy? Your such a baby. I tell him that he will ruin my sons self confidence and that I love my son exactly how he is and if he keeps it up we will have to have a family talk on how to be respectful and kind to ones other.
