Depression is nothing to be ashamed about and common for new moms. You can have mild depression know as the postpartum blue that might last for a few weeks after birth. Some women will have postpartum depression and postpartum depression can come on at any point during the first year after birth. If you are feeling depressed it is very important for you to tell a friend or family member and get their support. It is important for you to call your doctor and talk to them about treatment options. Postpartum depression is nothing to be ashamed about, you did nothing wrong. Getting help and treatment for postpartum depression is very important because it can be dangerous for both you and your baby.
