Not so sure about this job

So I was really excited about getting a job and I started yesterday morning. When I got to the owners home it was an old run down trailer and I walked through the entry way and counted around 18 cats and smelled urin to the point of feeling sick. I then walked in the house and junk was stacked up from floor to ceiling. The owner came out in her pajamas and just getting out of bed and said don't mind the house we just gave up on it. as two little dogs marked the corner of the fire place. Her husband comes out in his under wear and greats me. She then sits or an hour and smokes a cigarette ( while her too greasy headed boys ea there breakfast next to her on the couch. At this point I figured well it can't get much worse than this. Until she starts telling me the rules and how they clean cabins and she says we bring the laundry into the back room so my mother can wash them and look after the boys while we are keeping the grounds.... So I think okay this a little much for me. When started cleaning cabins we got 2 cabins done and the grandmother calls the owner on the walky talky and says " we have a small emergency" could you please come back here. Come to find out she was picking the boys head for lice in between laundry loads and they have it, I wanted to crawl out of my skin. I stayed they whole day and finished my work, But I don't know i I can go back .

Yes, you bring the bed linens from the cabins into the home for the grandmothers to wash. I would say we made four trips in and out of the home, the cats are what worry me the most. Clean cats don't bother me but I could see they had no litter box and the stench was awful!

When I got home I showered and put my clothes outside, as the night went on I starting feeling nausea's and sweaty. From around 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. I was vomiting with a high fever all night. I don't know if it was bad timing or something to do with the home. But I had heard that it is unsafe for pregnant woman to be around outdoor/indoor cats because the could possibly contract and infection called Toxoplasmosis. Does anyone know if this holds to be true? I'm still vomiting on and off today and I think if I'm not better by tonight I might go to the hospital.... Is that irrational?

They don't sound like very good people, I would stay out of that situation. If it was just your first day there and you already had to deal with cat urine and lice just imagine what else is lurking. Sounds like you may want to warn people who rent cabins from them too. We have campsites and cabins on our property and i couldent imagine having cats with no little box and live around out guest linens. Gross. (what's up with the guy greeting you in underware? Weird)

The vomiting has stopped, I still feel warm and a little nauseous, but I feel better than this morning. Thanks for checking in Debi.

All I can say is Wow! i know it can be hard to need a job... but sometimes you just need to let it go... this one sounds like it can be detrimental to your health! Remind me never to stay at that campground!
