Family With Sick Child Moves to CO for Medicinal Marijuana

I came across this article this morning and I found this VERY interesting. I know that there are many cases that medical marijuana has helped people with various illnesses. In this particular case the person with the illness is a child. The particular strain apparently doesn't get the child high. They are seeing drastic improvement in her symptoms. (she has a seizure disorder that can cause up to 400 seizures a day) With the use of the marijuana the seizures have been reduced to about 20 a day. Pretty amazing.

As a parent we will do anything to help our children. I don't know how I feel about this, but I think that if I were in their situation and it was the only thing that was helping her that I would do it. What do you think? Would you ever use medical marijuana for your child?

I am rather vocal in the autism biomedical community and this is a BIG thing for us. (Not me directly, but our community). I have many friends that are trying to make medical marijuana legal in many states, specifically for treating children. In CO they are using Cannibus oil to treat seizure disorders which many children with autism have. It does not get the children "high" and it replicates a chemical our bodies make naturally that is not in abundance with children with autism. As I said I have many friends in this community that are trying to get it legalized throughout the US. This is a very successful treatment for many disease not limited to seizures, autism and cancer.

it is really interesting because it isn't really an experiment at all. This has been proven time and time again. It just needs to be passed as law and the stigma needs to be lifted.
