Spring Cleaning

It is about that time ladies. We are moving so I have been forced to organize and de clutter and clean. It's been great for that. What sort of tasks do you try and get done with your spring cleaning? Today I am going through clothes to donate to goodwill. I need to clean the house top to bottom too by next tuesday when we move.

What is on your spring cleaning list?
Any good tips for the other moms that you like?

We are moving too!!! I have the hardest time hoarding kids toys. Whenever I try to purge I recall all the memories of them playing with each and every toy or who gave it to them... they all feel special to me. But in reality, there is NO reason for me to keep them. My kids have WAY too many toys and the clutter and mess they create makes me insane!!

We are in de-clutter mode right now. Then we'll move on to more deep cleaning.

To declutter, we just pick one room at a time over a week or 2. I pull everything that's piled up in a corner, is sitting out on a table/dresser, or doesn't have a good "home". We toss it all in one big pile and go through it. The stuff gets sorted into toss/donate, move to another room, or stay piles. The stuff that stays must be put back in a place that it can stay forever. Basically we give it a home.

It usually takes an hour or so depending on the size of the room and it makes a huge impact. Plus it's easier to deep clean when there isn't so much stuff around.

Ah.. I kind of did our Spring cleaning before Monroe arrived.. call it nesting mixed with Spring cleaning :) hehe! But I literally purged every room and got rid of SO MUCH stuff.. it was amazing.. so amazing in fact that the other day I thought to myself.. there really isn't any clutter in the house anymore :) I do want to tackle our basement a little more.. but who doesn't? ha! Spring cleaning wise.. I want to get the windows washed good and outside siding come Summertime!
