Food issues

Ladies, I need advice. My son has always been very picky about food. Now he is on the autism spectrum so this isn't uncommon. He will try anything you ask him to, but will have a physical reaction to food that he can't tolerate. Like last night we went out to Olive Garden. I asked him to try a bite of salad, which he was perfectly willing to do. As soon as it touched his tongue he started to wretch. This is a common reaction for foreign foods with him.

How do I help him with this? Anyone have experience?

My son does that stuff all the time and he is NOT on the spectrum... I think it must be a natural reflex?

My oldest is the same way, he is not on the spectrum like anotnio. Antonio loves food will try anything, eat anything. if he doesn't like it he will just say I don't like. my oldest pedro on the other hand is very picky. he will not eat anything he hasn't tried, so I trick him...if its salad I put some ranch on top , broccoli I put cheese, and if its a new type of meat I add barbque sauce to his piece. its hard with a picky eater because you don't know if any tricks will work.
