Are you a mom in school?

Hi ladies, just curious! How many of us are currently taking classes?

I am in school, which is something I should have done a long time ago. I kept putting it off, taking a class here and there. I am determined now though!

I am studying to bet my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education with a focus on special education.

Any other student mommy's?

My friend finally signed up to take classes to hopefully get out of working night shifts. She has a two year degree from a technical school and has been talking about taking classes to get her Bachelores in Accounting for years! Her daughter is 12 or 13 and she also has a son that is 5 or 6. I am so proud of her to finally do this for herself! Every person, including moms, deserve to have the time to pursue what they want, no matter what that might be! Best of luck and keep on going!

I completed my Master's in two years while working 40-50 hour weeks and planning my wedding. It was tough, though I am so glad I completed it. Sometimes, I think I want to go back to school and someday I might. I enjoy learning new things and love new challenges!
For me getting my Master's was the right thing. It has provided me opportunities to work on different projects at my current job that I would probably not have been given without it. It challenged me in a different way than you see at the undergrad level, which I believe helps me at my job. I hope that someday I will also see a financial return on the investment (time and money spent to get my Master's). I enjoy my job and the company I work for, so until that changes, I don't feel the need to leave for a job that I can make more money at and give up being happy at work.

It's a personal decision and if it is something you want to do, you will make the commitment to get it done. I've seen the articles about if getting your Master's pays off and I think a huge part of that is how you, as an individual, feel it makes the time and effort worth it. Some people only get it to make more money and those are the ones I see unhappy in their careers. You need to do what makes you happy!
