Is it ok to mix water with your baby's juice? Or is pedialyte better? And if it is how much do you give them?
He doesn't get juice very often. And I do mix it with water. But I heard baby's as young as mine can get water intoxication if they drink water by its self. So I was wondering if its better to mix it with something else.
Is your baby four months old? I don't recommend giving juice that early. Giving water or juice that early can cause possible issues. I would wait until at least 6months before giving juice. When you give juice you should water it down, I do 5% juice, 95% water. Pedialyte is good for a sick baby who can't keep down fluids but it should not be used on a regular or daily basis, think of pedialyte like a medication.
Is there a reason you are giving juice or wanting to so early? Like the others stated, watered down juice shouldn't even be given until 6 months of age.. so if your son is 4 months old only.. I would steer clear of the juice! If you think about it.. he doesn't know that he is missing it.. no sense in introducing a bad habit.. right?
