I don't personally think that spanking works. But I don't judge parents that spank their kids. Every mother is different, and certainly every child is different. I'm trying to teach myself that yelling doesn't work either.
Agreed. I have spanked my kids before, but don't usually do it because I don't think it is effective with them. I usually reserve spanks for if they are doing something that could end up hurting them (i.e. reaching for the stovetop or something on the kitchen counter, running into the street without a hand). That way they associate the action they were doing with the pain and insult of being spanked. Thankfully, situations where I feel like a spank is appropriate have been few and far between :)
It's so true, every child is so different, you've just got to do what works. I also don't plan to spank but won't say never.
yes I agree everyone is different and as long as the spanking is not abusive and does not border abuse it can be an effective method for some
