I would silently weep when no one was around...

Someone could mention the word, "baby" and I would want to bawl. I would walk by the baby department in stores and it would break my heart. We decided to wait, my hubby more than I, really, but it was not easy. I prayed to God one night and revealed the desire of my heart: to have a child." We have been using protection--Jonah was conceived anyway. I am thankful for my son. He is my unexpected miracle. I would not trade being a mother for anything. He is my world.

I love that name, too. Thank you. I have a nephew named Noah.

I'm with ya. I resigned myself to the fact that being a mother just wasn't for me. So I buried myself in my work, volunteered as much as I could, told myself I didn't like kids anyway so really it was a good thing. This is not an exaggeration... it was a January, I remember that, and 6 of my friends were all pregnant at once. SIX OF THEM.

But.. I left my ex, and almost 2 years later I met my fiance, we dated a few times and got pregnant.. go figure...

I wouldn't trade Charlie for the world. And y'know? I'm a pretty good mom too :)

I like your story, Alissa. A friend of mine was the same way. She got divorced (to a not very nice man) and met her fiancé and got pregnant. She had tried for 7 years before that. She now has a nearly I month old little boy. Your son is beautiful, by the way. I would not trade my son for the world, either. He is my world.
