Bloody Nose!!!

My poor son.. Has had 4 pretty gnarly bloody noses in the mornings lately.. His allergies are bad.. we haven't had but one day of full rain here all year and it's windy and dusty and he's congested and eyes are puffy and he's wheezy..

He handled so well.. Came in.. "Mom, I got a bleeder".. Which is our humor way of saying he's bleeding a lot.. And he took care of it himself before he came to get me.. THEN I went into the bathroom and it looked like a homicide poor thing...

Hope it stops soon..

Hi!!! Yes. I asked below what the Vaseline and saline did. Or I know it keeps it moist but do I put the vasoline up in his nose??

It's a lot of blood. I'm always shocked at how much. But he handles like a champ. So proud cause its unsettling.

    It's the dryness??? Or irritants??

Thank you!!! Tell me anything you think I should know.

you pinch both nostrils to close off from bleeding,..which usually helps but after apply a jelly base product. I know it sounds weird but even ky jelly helps keep moisture. try this everyday even without a nose bleed. humidifiers work also any moisture helps.

Aww poor thing. My brother and I were the same way when we were younger. Ours were because of dry air, maybe try a humidifier and see if that helps.

          Thanks ladies!!!

Yes!!! It's bad and he takes kids Claritin twice a day though I'm not convinced it helps.

I worked as the elementary school nurse for a year (not a nurse but trained in basic first aid).. And I had never dealt with so many bloody noses from kids. Every day. My kids had never had one until recently so it was good preparation for me.

Two kids had to get their nose cauterized. OMG the clots that were coming out??? Ugh. Was very unsettling. Very. I'd never seen so much blood from this one child and he would get the clots out and they'd get in his mouth!!!! I almost threw up a dozen times poor thing.

So I'm ready for it. Or feel I can handle.

I know that NO head back right? I Akways told kids to pinch like "p u" something stinky and head straight and level.

Ill take ANY tips. It's A LOT of blood!!! I'm shocked my son hasn't freaked out.

We live in Los Angeles, CA. I'm a writer, comedian, actor and single mom of two. Parenting is hard. I try to keep a sense of humor about it all and find the find the funny... in what is most likely NOT funny (i.e. boogers, meltdowns, homework, etc.).
