Boys with nail polish on

If your son asked for nail polish on his fingers or toes (let's say he brings it up while you are doing your own) would you paint his nails? Why or why not?

Totally. It's his call. Whether its for fun or not.
My son HAS asked and I'd do a couple of swipes. Then he'd want it off.

BUT as they get older... My son is 9 and in 4th. It's a big year of identification.. And just last week while he was super into the Wii I playfully posited his right foot toenails w purple.

He laughed, didn't care much but later when he put on his flip flops to go play outside w out neighbors he asked me to take it off.

yep!!! i have 3 daughters that are older than my son. my oldest daughter isnt really into the girly stuff, but the other 2 are extreme girly girls. while they are doing theirs my son will have them do his too. he likes his toenails done lol. he is all boy so no worries about anything, i dont think something like that would cause anything. i dont understand why some people have such a problem with it. sometimes they just like to be included no matter what it is lol. if he wants to wear nail polish when he is older then more power to him lol. i think children should be allowed to be who they are!!

It's kind of funny that our society decided that paint on nails is a girly thing. I mean it's just decoration. Painting your skin with a tattoo isn't considered girly. Again, it's just a form of self expression.

At carnivals where they do that goofy colored hairspray both boys and girls will get their hair done in their favorite color. Kids will wear clothes in their favorite color or decorate their stuff in it. Painting their nails that color seems like a natural progression of that. I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Why not, boys can wear it if they want to.
