Redshirting Kindergarden Aged Children

Redshirting is when you stop your child from entering kindy at age five, instead waiting until they are either six or closer to six.

There's a lot of debate about this, mainly if it is actually good for the children. Lots of people believe the older fives and younger sixes will be more mature and able to handle the classroom environment.

Is it good or bad, in your opinion?

My first time learning of the term redshirting. I think it depends on the child and should be determined on an individual basis. I started kindergarten less than a month after my fifth birthday, but there were children in my class who turned six that fall. I did really well in school for being one of the younger ones.
