Darn dog.

So our dog is a female. She is about 7 or 8years old. Lately she is been driving me nuts.
Since last winter she started peeing and pooping in the basement floor. We would clean it up an spray the area with bleach.

Now she is getting really bad. Not sure if its a bladder infection or old age.

But i let her out several time through out the day. I let her out before i leave to take kids to school, around 9am when i let her out again, after lunch, before i leave to get kids to school, after dinner and before we go to bed.

But now she is peeing and pooping down there more and more even after i let her out. Like this morning i let her out before i left, i went in the basement just a little while ago and there was 2puddles of her pee there. So today after i clean cat litter out i am vacuuming and then wash the basement floor with a bucket of water and bleach and mop.
Not only does she do this she eats the cat poop, she even has dragged some up here i had to clean up. She digs out of the garabage and bring its in our room or living room.

She is driving me nuts. If she gets to excited she almost steps on a kid. She barks at everything even if a kid makes a banging noise. She insists on laying on a jacket if i just set it on the couch.

She is a beagle blue tickhound mix.

She definitely might have a bladder infection of some type. To be on the safe side I would take her in to the vet if you can. One of my childhood dogs had a bladder infection that was ignored for longer than it should have been and it turned into something worse and unfortunately we had to put her down :( ...I definitely don't want that for you, so if you can I'd just get her checked and hopefully she can go back to normal! Good luck!

Yes. Vet time for sure. AT least you can get some behavior questions answered.. Poor thing, sounds like she's going through something.. Either with the kids or lack of exercise or attention? I read somewhere that dogs that eat poop are sick.. or are trying to sure themselves with a stomach ache..

You have a new baby? Any other changes? She an inside dog? Maybe have her outside more, take her for walks or a hike.. I know this sounds dumb, but maybe spend some time with her.. just the two of you.. throwing a ball, hiking.. errands in the car?

I take her for walks in spring with the kids cuz i cant walk her unless i have kids as my husband works. And she hates the cold so she wont go walk with me unless its warm.
My husband takes her on a car ride once a week.
The boys play with her in the house.
But all she likes to do is sleep.
