I would give my son, not often, a tsp of Karo syrup for his constipation and it worked.

My son would get badly constipated. The hospital started him on a Sensitivity low-lactose formula when he was born. He would become severely constipated. An old remedy, one that my hubby's family used, worked. One tsp of Karo (corn syrup) in with his formula or with an ounce of water worked well. I then switched him to Soy Formula on an instinct. I was right. He was having trouble due to lactose intolerant problems.

I have no idea. I am thinking the sugar content but I'm not sure. I was reluctant to try it but my husband reassured me and so I did. The next morning, he was able to go.
