My son will be having surgery on his hands...

My son was born with 2 fingers (ring and middle) fused together on each hand. It is called "webbing." He will be having surgery later this year to separate the fingers. I am worried because the idea of them cutting into my baby, scares me. I know it must be done but it is still frightening. Has any ever had to do this before?

Thank you. He will be having one hand done at a time so he may not get to experience crawling and will, more than likely, be stuck in a walker until he can walk around. I am having someone come in the home to work with him. He may be getting occupational therapy if the woman cannot meet his needs (as to physical exercise). He does have some delays due to his hands. I am grateful for the prayers. We are a praying family as well. :)

I haven't had this exact thing done, but I have been with my step son when he was little and underwent surgery twice on his ears, as well as when he was 8, he had knee surgery done.. And it's scary to see them "out".. scary to watch them get loopy and then be wheeled away for the procedure..

It won't be easy, but have faith and know this is the right thing to do and that all will be well.. In all honesty?? It's going to be harder on YOU than on him..

Thank you, Jessica. My son will be around 7-8 months old when he gets the first procedure.
