i personally have never had an epidural and i agree that we are made to do this naturally. im not judging anyone for getting the epidural, that is each individuals decision. for me labor was fast and i felt good after i gave birth. i was able to walk around and shower. not much pain and def no grogginess from drugs in my system. i have had 5 children with no medication what so ever and i would reccommend it. if you have any questions for me about my experiances please feel free to ask :-) i would also reccommend doing kegal exercises. it helps with the elasticity of your skin so during delivery you have less chance of ripping or having to be cut!

Good for you! I would take any classes you can find and find a doula to help you out.

I always sorta knew if get an epidural but I wanted to try and go as long as I could without it. After 12hrs of labor and no sleep I finally got one. 2hrs later it shifted and all the medicine got stuck in the lower half if my left leg. I could feel EVERYTHING! I wasn't prepared enough for pain management and delivering naturally was terrifying for me. I did not enjoy it at all, we'll except for getting my baby of course :) I had no side effects from the epidural once the numbness wore off.

When we have another baby I will probably get the epidural again but I will wait as long as I can. I will invest in some good pain management classes so I'm better prepared.

Stories are worse than the procedure . I can tell you from experience that the anxiety is worse than the actual event. But it all comes down to what you are comfortable with! Do not get it if you are not comfy with it
