ADHD and social security benefits for children

It is incredibly difficult to get SS for ADHD. You have to show marked impairment in regards to the childs ability to function even with treatment being in place. This is usually shown by grades, school attendance, trouble with authority figures (court problems and/or suspensions from school). While it isn't impossible to qualify the criteria is very high.

    Yes, same for autism. My son's assessed level of functioning isn't that great, but his grades are so good that they determined he didn't qualify.
