Crying before a BM

Crying could indicate constipation or diarrhea. At 3.5 months I can tell when Charlie has to poop because he pushes a bunch and makes a funny face, but up until now the only way I would know he had to go was because he would cry so bad and I couldn't figure out why. Talk to your pedi about the signs of constipation and diarrhea so you know how to attack the problem before it becomes a problem.

Great tips! I always keep some prune juice on hand so that if we have any constipation we can take care of it before it gets really really bad!

Crying is also a way of a baby communicating he is going to go to the bathroom, it may not be because of a problem. Babies cannot say they gotta go, you know?

I think gas is a big cause of discomfort. I know if I am gassy I can get awful cramps.
