Animals

Anybody else have pets that your toddlers..well.. 'over-love'? That is, play with them to the point that the animals just give up and let them? Of course it's always done where they can't get caught for being mean to the animals. They are slowly learning, it's more that they think the cat wants to play...constantly. My 2 year old now has a very good slice in her toe from the stinking cat defending herself. Putting tights on her for church was interesting.

They do awesome with the dog.. But the cat is a different story. No matter what we do, they get on her nerves. Usually animals will go somewhere when they are being bothered..the cat just sits and there and takes it.

We have tried moving the cat...the cat goes back. for some reason she loves those two. The dog has figured out if she sits still long enough the kids forget she is there and leave her alone.. The cat will steal a stuffed animal and push it off the stairs just to see if they'll notice, which they usually do.

We have yet to decide who the main instigator is..cat or kids.. It really depends on the day. I have a hard time feeling sorry for the cat when she keeps coming back for more.

we personally don't but we live in an apt complex and some of the older ones who live here have dogs that we "share". one lady here is a native american who bred poodles and still has 2 of them who are also her med dogs :), my daughter loves them so much and gets to play with them every day and grabs one by the hair on her head and tugs a little bit. the dogs are so gently and won't hurt even a fly.
