Dating

I started dating at age 16 and only with a group setting. Always with a curfew, even the night before I got married.

At what age do you think it is appropriate for your child to date? What curfew time do you or would you impose?

You're a crazy woman, Mom, lol. I still can't believe you had a curfew the night before you were married... And junior prom, wow!! I can't even imagine. I graduated early so my junior/senior prom were the same thing. I lived with my husband hundreds of miles away not too long after that! Can't even imagine having just started dating. Or not living with hubby the year or so I did before we got married, which I'm guessing you didn't, Mom. Things like this always blow my mind, lol.

Our first date was the Homecoming Dance when I was 16 and Trevor was 17, lol, though we'd been friends for most of the last 7ish months beforehand. He was my first boyfriend and my mom was just so happy that I'd let someone into my life for once that she never questioned it, except when we got engaged, since we were each other's first bf/gf and she told me to make sure he was the one I wanted to marry. We didn't really have a curfew, as long as I texted/called to let my mom know where we were. I'd say 16-17 would be fine...depending on the people she's around. Maybe a curfew of 11 or so, i dont really know lol

Well I was 32 when I went on my first date. Sad but true, I had never been asked out before that point. I hope my son doesn't wait that long! Lol he is only 14 months old and I caught him holding hands with a little girl the other day so I don't think I have to worry about that! Lol I think 15-16 is a good age though. Still young enough you can keep close tabs on them but still mature enough you can trust them a little.
