We just got a Motorola one that's really nice. It's the kind with a handheld video monitor. We had one that we could use with our phones but it kept glitching out and eventually broke all together.

The Motorola one is nice because you can tilt the camera using the handheld, which is nice when the baby wiggles around. It also tells the temperature in the room, had a zoom feature, night vision, and supports multiple cameras. There's actually a bunch if other features too, but we haven't really used them yet.

Oh my goodness, there are SO many out there!!!

Do you know if you want a video monitor or just an audio only one?? We had the Summer Infant video monitor and HATED it. That said, I think we got a lemon because I know a lot of friends that had the same one and completely and totally love it. We also have just a cheap fisher price one that is audio only... now that the kids are older that's all we ever use.

Know what you want out of a video monitor might help to reduce your options.

Do you want it to stream to your phone?
Do you want to be able to add multiple cameras for using it in different rooms?
Do you want it to have an intercom thing so you can talk to your baby through the monitor?

I used a baby monitor with our first and got rid of it as soon as I started hearing things going on at a neighbor's house! That was so freaky.
