Fry Bread!

My kids and fiancé are part native so I had to learn to make fry bread because that's what my fiancé is use to eating with his family. So here it goes.

1 cup of Flour (can use self rising)
1-2tlbs of Baking powder

put the baking powder in the bowl with the flour, mix. Add Water and mix until if forms a ball f dough. Once the ball of dough is formed, let sit so it may rise. Leave for bout hour to half hour.
Once the dough has risen, need it well until it is easy to manage. rip a piece off into a ball the size of you palm.(you can make them any size) and roll it out with a rolling pin or flatten and shape with your hands... Heat up in a shallow frying pan a spoon or two of Crisco. Once it is hot slowly put the flattend dough in to the frying pan. Make sure you make sure both sides are golden brown, do not leave it any longer . Once golden brown you may remove and make your Indian taco.

I've never even heard of fry bread before. Thanks for sharing. It's almost like our pancake recipe but without eggs and milk.

Its a Native American bread. some even make it into a desert and once they take them out the pan they add ground cinnamon on it.
