How do I keep my 1 year old in bed
Bentley is 14 months old. The otherday he started to climb out of his bed. I can't keep him in it and he's to little to really understand that he has to stay there. This morning I found him in a nest he had made out of blankets in his closet.
from what I have heard climbing out of bed tends to be a sign that it's time for a toddler bed, it could be a safety risk for him to keep climbing out of the crib, at least in a toddler bed he'd be low to the ground.
Toddler bed might help.. and then just keep walking him back and saying, this is your bed.. you sleep here.. they understand more than you think :)
He really is too little to understand, so like Jessica said I would just keep walking him back to the bed. You could try laying next to him on the floor for a few nights so he understands that he has to stay in bed, although with some children that just causes confusion and they won't sleep.
How did he do with the toddler bed, Sarah? :)
Oh no... keep trying.. hang in there!
