So I exclusively breastfeed my 4month old daughter but I want to go back to work But I cant get her to take a bottle I have tried having someone else give it to her I have different sitting positions for her I have done many different bottles and nipples. She wont take anything I don't know what else I can do to get her to take one. does anyone have any advice they could share with me?

I don't have much experience with this, as my baby took the bottle without issue. I read in "Eat Sleep Poop," however, that you should pick a day and not breastfeed until the baby takes the bottle, because if you do eventually breastfeed, you're just teaching the baby how long to wait for breastmilk. I'm not sure if that's helpful right now, though. I know it would be hard for me to follow...:(

I strictly breastfeed, I have had to pump and have my daughter take a bottle a few times due to my hospital visits so it was really rough the first few times but she takes it when she's really hungry. Make sure the temperature is right hold her like you're going to breast feed and give her the bottle. She'll get used to it, it takes a lot of patience!

I really don't have any experience but hope she takes a bottle soon since you are planning on returning to work.

I had this issue with both my sons, even though they were older when I transitioned to a bottle. Here is the only thing that worked for me: Make sure that whoever is giving the bottle (and, ideally, it shouldn't be you and you shouldn't be in the room) does not hold them in the breastfeeding position. I had my nanny hold my boys sitting up and facing outward (almost like she was reading them a book) and that worked. But if anybody held them in the lying down position, they'd automatically start looking for a boob, even if it was my husband. HA!
