VBACs

Any of you lovely ladies had a VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean)? I ended up having to have an emergency C-section with baby girl because my cervix started to swell shut. They tried to suction her out, but she had too much hair and it wouldn't stick, and when they tried the forceps, she went back up (Also, it hurt like hell!)! I've done some research on VBACs and what I've read is that they are possible, but a lot of doctors aren't willing to risk it. I'm hoping to have another baby someday and wanted to know if there are any success stories out there and if there's a healthy chance of me having a VB ever again?

I'm surprised that you're having difficulty finding a provider to allow allow TOLAC for you, considering it's the general accepted practice with the large scale move away from non-indicated c-section. There's a greater than 70% chance of successful VBAC after a primary cesarean. I would recommend you speak with more than one provider before you settle with one who seems more inclined to recommend another c-section, because each subsequent cesarean lessens your chance of successful VBAC, and each successful VBAC increases your chances of the next being successful.

I think you need to find the right doctor! i had an emergency C with my first and wanted a VBAC with my second (but had some complications with the pregnancy and had to have another c section. But up until the complication part my doctor and I were planning a vbac and I was totally psyched!
