Dealing with depression

This is something I have dealt with my entire life. it is especially challenging as a stay at home mom. Aside from remembering to take medication... it is IMPORTANT to get outside the house! Maybe schedule a play date or join a playgroup!

One of the BEST things to do is open the curtains! Even though i like to site in a darkened room when my depression hits... I do find that the best way to combat the symptoms is to open the shades and let the sun in... it gives an extra boost and naturally combats the depression.

Moms Expertise
I'll have to keep that one in mind. One of the things I do to help myself feel better is take a shower and take the time to make myself look pretty. Even if I'm not going anywhere, and even if it's kind of a waste of makeup. If I look in the mirror and I have huge bags under my eyes and greasy hair and yesterdays mascara is making me look like a panda, I just feel worse. So I take a steamy hot shower, sing my little heart out while I'm in there, and gussy myself up. Then when I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror later, at least I can think "Damn! I look good!"
