Hi everyone!

Sorry I have been absent! Life got a little crazy lately. My ex has been harassing my family because he feels we are keeping his child from him, which isn't true, he just hasn't contacted anyone or even tried to see her. But anyway, I wanted to see if there is any advice you guys can give me about this? I want to have sole custody of my daughter (not keep her from him, I'll allow visitations, but I want to have legal and custodial custody of her) but I don't know how to go about it. He hardly cares about her and I already pay for everything she needs without his help. I have a stable place of living, he doesn't. He works all the time, I don't. Any advice?

Nice to have you back, Heaven! I honestly don't know what to advise you. Maybe some of the other ladies will have some ideas for you. I can only think of consulting with a lawyer.

I would strongly urge you to go to court and get a custody agreement established if you haven't yet. Is he listed on her birth certificate? If he is then right now he has just as many rights to your little one as you do if there is no custody order. That means he can keep the baby in his home and not return her and file for custody.

I'm not trying to scare you, but these things do happen. Make sure you are covered in the courts eyes.

Sounds like a tough situation there. My boyfriend is kinda going through something similar with his other baby mama. Only he legitimately wants to see her and she's not giving him any way to contact her...so complicated. Anyways, I'm really sorry to hear about this. I hope things get better for you and I personally would just file for full custody and make it official. But that's just me.
