When to talk about Heaven and Hell

I will be the first to say that I am NOT a religious person at all. I have my beliefs. I believe in God. I believe in Heaven and Hell. I don't force my beliefs on anyone else. I don't talk about it unless I'm asked. Me and my daughter were talking today and the topic came up. She was talking about God and heaven. I don't remember what brought it up. So I asked her if she knew who the devil and/or hell was. She said no. She is 6 by the way, going on 7 in a few months. I told her in terms that she could understand that when people here on earth died, their souls went to heaven or hell. I described heaven as clouds in the sky and hell was a lake of fire down below. This is what I was told as a child and I have imagined it like that as well. I told her that when people are good then they go to heaven but if they're bad then they go to hell. Well she started bauling her eyes out. She said I was scaring her. Maybe I went a little deep there. But I wasn't trying to scare her at all. I told her that that is what I believe and just because mommy believes it, doesn't mean that she has to. I want her to have her own beliefs and not just because someone else does. So she told me that she believes in Heaven and Hell. She told me some little boy in her class told her the devils phone number was six six six. I tried to tell her about sin and forgiveness. I'm sure shes confused so I told her we weren't going to have this conversation again until she was older and had a better understanding. I honestly didn't know what to say to her. Any advice or tips on this subject?
