Feeding schedule and amount for a 6wk old

My little guy can go a while at night at with his feedings. For example we feed him around 7pm and put him down around 9pm. He doesn't wake up until 1 or 2 am to eat again. During the day, he seems to only be able to go about 2-3 hours without eating. Am I supposed to feed him more throughout the day? I feel stupid for asking this question, but I don't want to mess up his already great sleeping pattern. Any tips or suggestions?

Hi Shannon.. I tried really hard at first to chart every time Charlie ate and how much, set timers for feedings, downloaded apps for diaper changes.. then I realized.. Charlie is going to do what Charlie is going to do. He sleeps through the night, from around 10:30pm until roughly 6am now. But I will say, when he started sleeping through the night I asked my pedi if I should be waking him up and he gave me a big fat NO. Ask your doc about a rough estimate and go with that.

As long as baby is gaining weight, and your pedi will say if that's not happening , it's fine to let baby sleep during nighttime hours. Maybe he's getting used to the schedule , which is great.

Some of mine seemed to do this too. I wouldn't worry unless he's not gaining and thriving.
