First time having sex after pregnancy

It all depends on what procedures you had done during delivery and how you have healed as to when the first time will occur after giving birth. It took me a LONG time after my first because I had an episiotomy and I hurt for the longest time. I recommend going slow and you may have to educate your partner on how you are feeling if he isn't observant or sensitive to your needs. Misunderstandings can occur if you both are not communicating your needs during this time after birth. The doctor says wait six weeks, some may be ready sooner, others may be ready at six weeks, while still others may take longer.

I didn't have any issues with later pregnancies since I never had another episiotomy. It was that first one that was the roughest.

I had a c-section on my first go, so we were pretty cautious about our starting to have sex again. We made it to 5 weeks before we couldn't wait any longer, lol! But we took it slow and he was very gentle about it. It actually wasn't bad at all, if I do say so myself! ;P
