Do you know how YOU were born?

We are always talking about how we hope our birth will go or how our birth went. But do you even know how you were born?

Does your mom ever tell you about your birth or your siblings births? Did your mom tell you about it during your childhood or did she tell you about it when you were pregnant?

I was the first born in my family. My mom gave birth to me vaginally with a drug free labor. During that time it was hospital policy to deliver in a sterile operating room. All of my siblings were born with drug free vaginal births as well.

I was born vaginally as well, my mom was drug free and had the doctor and nurse in the personal room with her, also had a radio on too.

I was born naturally at 26 weeks gestation. My mom had placenta previa (placenta over the cervix), and I guess she started bleeding. She had to be flown to the hospital for delivery. I think she should have had a cesarean, maybe I wouldn't have Cerebral Palsy. I was 2 lbs 3 oz and was transferred to a different possible at some point, where I stayed for 3 months.

LLinda- That's my worst fear! I've had 3 Cesareans, all for different reasons...but holy moly how scary it is...That always crosses my mind, "What if they cut the baby?!" I'm glad that you're ok! :)

I was a couple of weeks early. My mom know something was up during the night when she got up to go the bathroom. I don't exactly remember what, though she felt something was wrong. At the hospital, it was discovered I was turned wrong and the cord was around my neck. She had me by c-section and everything turned out to be just fine. I know she had my younger brother by c-section, I don't know about my older one. She told me, I just don't remember.

Fitting question since today is my birthday ;) I was born after my mom was induced nearly 3 weeks overdue. Drug free delivery and then a significant post partum hemmorhage.

My mom drove herself to the hospital. Her water broke and five minutes later, I arrived. I was an emergency C-Section though. I was traveling down the birth canal too fast. If they didn't get me out, I would not have made it. My mother told us all about each other's births growing up. I am the second youngest of six. She experienced zero contractions with us and had quick labors.

I also was lucky enough to feel no contractions with my son. I didn't know I was having any until a nurse came in and told me I was having them 80-90 seconds apart.

I hope, in the future, the others are the same.

When I was born the cord got wrapped around my shoulder and they had to used the little vacuum to help turn me and get me out. When my brother was born his umbilical cord snapped as he was coming out which the doctors said they had never seen before. I took 6 hours and my brother took 16 hours lol.

I was 2 weeks late deliver b c-section and 11lbs 8oz. I sucked in some mucus and had to be shocked back to life. My mom has twins before me and wasn't able to conceive them naturally she was told she'd never get pregnant again when they were born and then she got pregnant with me. I was only a little spoiled growin up ;)
