Mixed Emotions

I cried with my oldest. The tried to stop labor, but couldn't so they had to induce me at 36 weeks. As soon as she was born they laid her on my chest so I could see her, and I cried. Then they rushed her off to NICU and I didn't see her for over 12 hours :/
My youngest, I had PPD. She didn't feel like she was mine. It was like she belonged to someone else. So, she didn't really get much of a "hello" from me. I faked it in front of everyone though. I didn't want anyone knowing I had PPD at the time. The only people in my family that know now are my mom and my husband.

By the time I actually went to push I was over it all. I had been in labor for 3 days before going to the hospital. I had gone into preterm labor 6 or 7 times before, and they just kept putting me on bed rest. So I figured I'd cut out the middle man and just put myself on bed rest. By day 3 I couldn't even get up to use the bathroom without being in excruciating pain, so I went to the ER. That's why they had to induce me with my oldest. I was in labor at the hospital for over 12 hours.

PPD can be a nasty animal. I had it with my second as well and it does make it very hard to bond.
