Born at 36 weeks

My oldest was a month early. They rushed her off to NICU, but she was able to breathe, eat, and sustain body temp on her own so she didn't stay in NICU long. I had to feed her every 2 hours, even through the night. Instead of letting her sleep through the night, I had to wake her up and feed her. It was hard, since I just wanted to rest. She slept constantly too. But, if I didn't feed her every 2 hours, she wouldn't get her weight up. She only weighed 4lb 7oz. when we left the hospital.
Other than feeding her so often, care for her was just like any other baby.

My oldest was only in NICU for the 2 days that we were supposed to be there. And, she stayed happy and healthy.
My youngest was born a week early, but ended up in the children's hospital with RSV 2 weeks later, because she was born in the winter. I had taken her to the ER near me and they told me it was just a cold. About 5 hours later she was blue and could barely breathe. By the time we got her to the children's hospital, she couldn't breathe on her own so she had tubes in her nose, an IV in her head and wasn't allowed to eat anything. In all, I think we almost lost her about 30 times in the first week alone. She was there for 16 days.

My oldest has been talking since she was 1, and I mean talking to where you can understand everything she says. She knows the meaning of ever word she uses. We're potty training her now, and she's picking up on it pretty fast. teaching her to read is a but of a struggle though.
My youngest is talking now, she's trying to learn to walk on her own. She can count to 20 by herself, and knows A LOT of songs that she can do hand movements with (itsy bitsy spider, head shoulders knees and toes, if you're happy and you know it, etc.).
They're both happy and healthy. My oldest goes through long phases of not wanting to eat much, and my youngest never stops eating lol. But, other than that, there's no worries at all.

It really was! I stayed in the hospital the entire time. My husband had work at night, so my oldest stayed with my MIL the entire time. My MIL brought my oldest to the hospital so I could see her though. By the time I left, I knew when the machine she was hooked up to was just beeping because her breathing went down a little, or if it was an emergency. So, if it wasn't an emergency, I turned it off and reset it myself so the nurses wouldn't have to be called in every 5 minutes to do it. Unfortunately, I was breastfeeding at the time, and while she was there, I couldn't feed her. So, I ended up losing my supply. I could've gone to the lactation room to pump, but every time I tried, the doctor finally came in and I wasn't there :/
I tried pumping in the room, but when I did, even the nurses didn't want to come in because they thought they were interrupting. I just told them, "Look, I'm covered up, I'm not shy about breastfeeding in front of you if you're in here to check on my baby." But, they left anyway.

Did you have to get a special car seat for her, Chelse? I know many seats on the market are only for 5lbs +, though I think some start at 4 :)

She was! She still wears clothes that are smaller than what she should wear. She's almost 3 and can wear 3T shirts, but is still in 18-24 month pants. She's short for her age and underweight for her age. But, her weight is perfect for her height.
Unfortunately, she got that from me. I was the same way. My mom said she had to dress me in baby doll clothes. Since they didn't make diapers small enough to fit me in the early 90's she had to use the diapers that came with baby dolls too.
