Was homestead-y today (or extra homestead-y?)
We finally got around to using our cheesemaking supplies we bought after making cheese at a friend's in February. We made cheddar cheese, now it be pressed for 12 hours with 40 lbs of weight, then 24 with 50 lbs of weight and finally...age for 60 days. The cheese curds were good though, even if we have to wait for the actual cheese.
We also made crock pot yogurt last night. We were suppose to have it with strawberries for dessert but we were all full after our burgers, salad, chips and lemonade!
The cheese I wouldn't say is hard, just lengthy as it takes all day because so many steps are 20 minutes waiting here, an hour waiting there or 2 hours towards the end. It's a lot of monitoring temperature as well so watching and waiting. I should try to do a video of it sometime, I just never think of videos much, as I haven't done much video editing.
