Happy Earth Day!

Today is Earth Day, if you didn't know, so I'd like to start a post to talk about all things Earth Day! Recycle? Garden? Something else? Tell us about it!

My contribution: I try to recycle as much as I can, and really wish that I could put plastic bags out with my weekly recycling. Right now, we can put out cans, glass, and cardboard, so if I could just add plastic bags to that mix, I would be set. Instead, I save them up and try to remember to recycle them at the grocery store. That doesn't always go so well.

Also, I wish I could compost, but sadly, although I like that "outside" is there and I want to save the world and all, I don't generally take part in it because I have a crazy bug phobia that I can't get under control. So no gardening or planting for me, although I really want to start some herbs on my kitchen windowsill.

Also, if you want to find local bag/film recycling:

Also, from my Facebook feed, blurb regarding a book called The Zero Footprint Baby (which I haven't read, but it sounds interesting and relevant):

Efficient windows are awesome. My house has crappy older windows, and I know what I'm missing! Good for you and your repurposing too--do you have any repurposing tips?
