Took my cats for their surgery this morning.

So my baby girls are getting spayed today. They both completely freaked out when I put them in their carriers and cried the whole car ride . I knew they were scared and it broke my heart. :(

I'm taking the kids with me when it is time for pick up, hopefully they can keep them calm.

I didn't ask about recovery though, do any of you know how long it will take for them to feel back to normal?

I don't remember exactly how long. Growing up we had a few cats that we had fixed. When I adopted my kitty, he had just gotten fixed and declawed. It took him a few days to be able to move around and act more like a kitty. I just remember giving him lots of love and attention and making him comfortable - having his food and water easily available and also kept his litterbox closeby. I also made him "steps" so he could get into the bed (I used pillows, boxes and a chair since he could not jump very well those first few days).

our little girl took about 2 weeks to get back to her normal self, despite being stuck inside. The vet had shaved her belly and we were told she couldn't go outside until the stitches healed and her hair started to grow back. I was heavily preggo at the time so our little girl curled up on my warm stomach to keep herself warm.
