Ovulation and pregnancy test: Is it possible to have an ovulation test positive if you are already pregnant?

My first question to you would be: Why on earth are you taking a ovulation test when you are already pregnant??

You will not ovulate while you are pregnant. An ovulation test is checking for LH (Luteinizing Hormone), this hormone peaks during ovulation. During pregnancy LH decreases and HCG (pregnancy hormone) rapidly increases. Some ovulation tests will pick up LH and HCG and the test can not differentiate between the two hormones.

It is possible to have a positive ovulation test during pregnancy but it is not because you ovulated, it is because the test is picking up on the HGC hormone.
